Glencoe Country Club
Superintendent News - July  2009

July is a great time to get out and golf, and the weather is usually warm and sunny. July can be tough
on the maintenance staff. The hot dry weather is good for golfing but requires alot of hand watering
and TLC from the grounds crew. You will see us out there just wetting the greens, which cools the
surface from 10 -15 degrees. That is usually enough to get them through the hot dog days of summer.
So please have patience when you see us hand watering. We do this for you have a better golf
experience.

We have no projects for July, just maintaining the course. We might add some sand to a couple of
bunkers, but that is about it. The golf course is in great shape and doing very well, so come on out and
enjoy it.

One side note, we are not repairing golf carts anymore, due to insurance reasons. But if you need
work done to your cart, stop and see me and I can get you in contact with someone who can fix
them. The same goes for accessories for your carts.
