Superintendent News - May 2009
Summer has arrived and we welcome back our summer grounds crew. I would like to thank the
retired guys for their help this spring! This month, we will be doing our normal maintenance along
with some detail work around the course. One thing we will be keeping our eye on is the ash trees.
I'm sure you have all heard by now that the Emerald Ash Borer has been found in Minnesota. This
is a very deadly insect and will kill any kind of ash tree. I have been talking with the Department of
Agriculture along with an arborist to see how costly treating the trees would be and if it would even
be beneficial. I will keep you posted on this. We have roughly 1300 trees on the course and 25%
are ash trees.
Employee of the Month
Lee Forcier has been with our crew for one year. He is very reliable and always able to help. Great
job, Lee!
