Glencoe Country Club
Superintendent News - November  2009

Well, the golf seasons is just about over. And thank goodness October is over, maybe now we will
see some sunshine. The course was very wet this past month and we did lose some turf with water
damage. We will take care of this in the spring. This is one reason I don't like to see golf carts out
there just after rain. All I ask is that if you are allowed to take golf carts out when it's wet, use caution. If
we don't allow golf carts it's so the course is not damaged and the playing conditions are not hurt. We
will be covering the greens shortly and turning our attention to tree trimming. You probably have
already seen I have been pruning trees up along holes #1 & #2. We plan on taking down 5 big
cottonwood trees along #11 this month. If anyone would like some of that wood, please give me a call.

I would like to thank all of my grounds crew members from this past year. They worked very hard and
did a great job preparing the course day to day. Thanks, Guys!

If November does stay warm and we keep golfing, please don't plan on early tee times. Frost will be
out there most mornings now. So please stop and ask before you play in the morning.

Have a great month!!
